On Thursday’s broadcast of “CNN News Central,” Rep. Ami Bera (D-CA) said that voters should trust him to lower costs despite them being so high in California “because we’re going to have to build more houses. We’re going to have to address these things. They’ve seen what President Trump has done from day one, in terms of raising the tariffs that consumers are paying, taking us to an illegal war in the Middle East with Iran.” He also called for more spending on healthcare.

California has some of the highest cost-of-living numbers, housing prices more than double the U.S. national average. Why should voters trust you to bring these costs down when they are so incredibly high in the state that you represent?”
