Vice President JD Vance delivered an impassioned speech in eastern North Carolina on Wednesday, going after globalist leaders who he said have forgotten that being an American means something, connecting his time serving as a young Marine in the state to failed politicians in Washington.
\n\nVance recounted that after 9/11, there was pride and unity and every house flew an American flag not because they were asked, but “because we loved our country and we wanted everybody to know it.” He said kids from towns like Middletown, Ohio, volunteered to serve in droves because they were raised to love the United States of America.
\n\n“When I think about the kindness that the people of North Carolina showed to me, none of them had to do that. They did it because I was a Marine, because they were proud of me, and because that was reason enough to treat me like family,” Vance said. “They understood something that Washington, DC spent 40 years forgetting: that being an American means something, and North Carolina deserves leaders who will never let Washington forget it!”
