“Killer robots” aren’t (yet) a real thing, but they certainly are a useful threat if you’re an artificial intelligence maker worried that cut-rate competitors might enter the AI market and ruin your planned stock sale.
\n\n“We’re all going to die horrible deaths at the hands of killer robots. Or so say the voices that speak loudest in Silicon Valley. All the big tech leaders are saying we need increased regulation or AI is going to be out of control,” cautions investigative reporter Peter Schweizer. “But is this actually being ginned up to benefit them and their businesses?”
\n\n“I can’t remember a time when you have the leaders, not just a lone whistleblower from a company, but the leaders of companies come out and say our products might be dangerous,” adds Eric Eggers, Vice President of the Government Accountability Institute and co-host of The Drill Down podcast.
